The Alberta Cricket Association was formed in 1882 in order to encourage and foster the playing of cricket in the province of Alberta. Alberta Cricket Association was incorporated under Alberta Societies Act on 17 February 1975.
Cricket’s popularity has surged in recent years as Albertans with origins from Pakistan, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Caribbean share their love of the sport.
Every cricket club in the province of Alberta is eligible for membership in the Association, The Constitution of the Association, which outlines all of these regulations. The Association is controlled and managed by a governing Board, and is to be governed by the rules of the Marylebone Cricket Club. The officers of the Board consist of the President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and 2 Directors at large. All of whom are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The Chief Executive Officer is appointed by the Executive board for a 5-year term and is the Spokesperson of the Association and represents the Alberta Cricket Association in Cricket Canada Meetings.
The Chief Executive Officer looks over all operations of the association and works with Executives and Board of Directors for the development of Cricket in Alberta. The CEO is de facto part of all committees and all meetings. CEOs work closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop growth plans, policies and strategies for members of the association.
New bylaws and more than dozen policies were made to help Govern fastest growing sports in Alberta. Many new Coaching and training Camps become part of Associations yearly Development programs. The Association adopted a new strategic plan for long term development of Athletes.

Next to Victoria Golf Course, you’ll find the Victoria Cricket Club. Alberta Primer Turf Wicket Cricket Field between high rises of Edmonton Downtown A tall stone monument welcomes those who come to partake in a tradition that started here before Edmonton was a city, or even a town. The walls of the Victoria clubhouse proudly display the history of cricket in Edmonton. But the story isn’t over. New grounds are popping up throughout the city. The ancient sport has become one of Edmonton’s newest passions once again.
